View Full Version : Re-radius rear fender?

I got my flat fender and want it to follow the radius of the tire a little tighter. I've seen it done but of course it always looks easy in pics. I know you cut Slits in the side so it will bend then weld and bam your done. How far apart should the slits be, should you heat the fender to bend or just use force, what other little steps am I missing and does anyone have any helpful hints?

The photos and write up are by Raz, we reposted it on our site because it is a great tech tip and works perfect, I used it on an old wassel 4" rear fender and it worked perfectly and took about 10 minutes to get perfect. Beats cutting and welding to re radius!

Thanks, I'll have to try that. I think this fender might be a little thicker than the ones in that article, but it can't hurt to give it a shot.

+ a million on the 2x4 trick. works like a darned charm it does.
