Been building this little gem for my wife. It was her first bike, and endured a rather rough life, including being a make shift dirtbike quite often....

Shaved Forks, Laced up a 16" hoop on the rear, all new tail section on the frame, Honda MT Tank, Fiberglass seat, Stainless Exhaust, Handmade Aluminum Bars, Rearsets...

Yeah, Starter Deleted (Custom Kickstart in the works!) and Ported and Polished Headwork...

Regeared, Lightened, and a taller rear tire should make this one fun...

Man, that thing is kickass. It's great to see what a little thought and ingenuity will get you. Keep us posted.

Diggin the pipes. I got the CB750's I have to try and get my wife into riding. We'll see. Since the kid was born, and now she's prego again, she seems less interested in riding by herself. Oh well more toys for me.

Nice build

Please detail the kicker conversion, especially where the parts were sourced

VERY cool! What are you going to do about those angled shocks?

Leave em as is... Lots of folks seem concerned about them, Im not... Hahaa. The swingarm has been stiffened, and I put in needle bearing in place of the sloppy bushings.

On a side note, I built Rock Crawler Suspensions for a long time, and Shock angles do come into play. Mostly affect valve damping, and effective travel, But these are not angle enough to affect this one....

In all reality, if the swingarm wanted to shift sideways, more triangulation of the mounts would actually keep that to a minumum. But then again, if the swingarm wanted to move around, straight shocks wouldn't slow that down either...

There is a reason I spent nearly 5 years in School for Industrial Design, I love problem solving! Pics soon

I don't know man, have you ever tried to squash a pyramid? Seems like the same reasoning with the shape of those shocks as viewed from the rear. Will they want to compress without bending? If the shock bushings ran perpendicular to the shock I could understand but they don't.

Agreed on the bushings... Which does make it stiffer... The bushings still have plenty of "give" in them, but Im sure it will be harder on them. Eh, we'll just have to see how it does... Can always change it later right...

the main thing is that you will get a slight change in the effective damping and spring rates.

you'll be thrashing out the shock bushings much quicker though.

Update:

Got the Kickstarter to work! But, here is the side cover I removed the Honda Logo from. I want people to wonder WTF this thing is :smokin:

http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w264/punkskalar/Courtneys%20Rebel/100_4566.jpg

Deleting the Starter is not 100% done yet, still have some welding to do on the cover, Here you can see the stock cover with the starter boss, and the modded cover with it removed.

In the last pic, you can see the kick shaft sticking out. Had to make the shaft, bushings, and do lots of welding work to the back of the cover to make everything stay in place.

Cut new sprockets for the kick-start. Its at a 1:1.7 ratio now, plenty easy to kick since it is a 250, but enough to spin the motor over as well...:smokin:

Oh yeah, its a left side Kick, and you fold the kick over, and kick it forward... Totally weird and people are gonna wonder what the hell is going on with that lever :smokin:

Had some folks wanting to see the frame work. The seat is actually raised a bit from where the stock rebel seat sits. All the unpainted tubework is new, replaced, changed, etc...

I'm really liking the kicker. My Uncle Mike says "real" motorcycles have their kickers on the left. (sometimes I hear people refer to him as Hodaka Mike)

Do you have any picts of the internals? What is the shaft engaging with? Is it clutched?

As of now, Im hiding the internals from the internet Ninjas :)

It is clutched, haven't worked out a return spring just yet, but it may not need it... We shall see... So what you are saying, is that I should put "Hodaka" on the tank and really confuse people? !?

Well guys, here she is...

90% Done, have to finish some details like like lights and tag mount... Then tear it down for frame paint, think I'll leave the tank as is for now....
