I need to make some risers for my buddy's project and all I have is the ol MIG gun. anyone got a lead on steel 7/8" clamps that I could work into risers. I know aluminum would be better but that aint in the picture. Help a nig out!

look into Triumph P clamps, might work out, thread on bottom so if you make threaded tubes for risers, you could make it work, also these clamps, will hold 1 inch bars, if you dont use the stock shims for 7/8ths bars

Aren't the xs650 risers steel? If so I might have an extra set. You could cut the tops off to change them.

More specifically, look at the two-piece clamp-on shaft collars. They do have them in 7/8" and it looks to me like one could make some risers with them.

Just get steel ones that are weldable. There are case hardened ones and if you don't get through it with the weld - "SNAP!!"

Cheap 7/8 risers are everywhere though.
