Looking at picking this up....what do you all think this would be my daily driver...

Specs taken from advertisment:
1984 Custom Shovel
I completely rebuilt this 84 shovel but added some upgrades to the areas that were weak when these bikes were new. Late model saddlebags, switch boxes, Spyke starter, CV Carburetor, Softail forks and brakes. The seat is a Corbin and the pipes are Paughco, bars are 12" rise. Paint on the tanks and fenders is two tone black and grey base clear while all the other black paint is powder coat.
The engine and transmission are completely rebuilt and work perfectly, not one leak. The bike has the original speedometer and has about 1000 km's since the rebuild. New Metzler tires on new wheels, front is a 120/70 21" with a 3" rim and the rear is a 140/90 16".
This was the last year of the Shovelhead engines and I would say the best year. There were many improvements such as the Evolution Flywheels and offset wrist pin pistons which are now +10 and are the genuine Harley. Stronger starter and a factory rear belt drive

If you're looking to ride a couch, it's pretty sweet.

Here's my daily.

depends on the price...nice, but not original nice. I would have to say that several of the upgrades actually devalue the bike. Unless of course he has all the factory parts. Bags seem oddly mounted and not a fan of the 21" front wheel on it.

^^^X2 as stated above^^^ Nice looking old bike if your wanting an ultra couch but also as stated, it depends on the price. Since its not original or a correct resto then its worth what someone will pay for it.

if you like it, buy it. if its cheap, buy it. if it runs, buy it.

you can always change it the way you like it.

dont listen to anyone else, especially me.

no tag line here.

Get rid of the windscreen, and then you have a great looking bike.

If it wasn't for jap shit; I fear top auto MPG would be 15.

Looks like a good runner. Would look way better by removing the windshield.

^Exactly what I was thinking^

What is the asking price?

Just looks a bit porky. Ditch the bags. Looks like a bike a dentist would ride.

Not exactly my style, what with the bags and windshield, but I think that it's very tastefully done. No, it's not original, but how many guys on ChopCult have nearly 30 year old bikes that are very original, haha.

A good strip down would do wonders for that thing. Remove bags, windshield front fender and a couple other doodads and change to smaller bars and I'd ride that thing all day long.

Best of luck!

Looks kinda chunky the way it is, but there's definitely a shining sculpture waiting in that marble. I'd tear into it and shave it down, and you'd get a heckuva good looking bike. I really dig the front fork/headlight area.

Grats on the new bike. It's yours now, so now make it yours.

Nice. But fat style front fenders with narrow wheels and tires just don't look right to me.
