I have a question on oil tank size. Does anybody know how small of a oil tank I can get away with on my Triumph 650. I would like to run one of those old remote oil filter housings that came on them old fords. My guess would be it would hold about 1.5 quarts. Just dont want to burn the engine up. i also thought if I ran a remote oil filter that would add to the capacity. Thanks for any help.

3 quarts is my rule for oil tanks but see what others say maybe you can run less ....

Between my tank and oil filter (external) I'm running 2 and 1/2 total.

I have a buddy running a 1 1/2 quart oil tank on his BSA A65 . It will start to run hot real quick . Also you have a problem if you ride in the revs the oil gets to bubblie and doesn't pump right . I would go no less then 2 1/2 quarts but 3 is best . My wife runs 31/2 quarts on her Triuph but she rides in the 6000 rpm range alot so the more capicity is needed !

Hey I appreciate that I didnt even think about it running hot. Here is a picture of a Triumph with one of those tanks. I think I will pass I cant afford to blow my shit up. Barely afford to build the damn thing.
