Ghetto Blaster
This is my 1982 Suzuki GS 450.

I got it all stock and not running. After charging the battery and messing with the carbs for a minute it fired up. Since I knew it ran I went to work taking it apart and hardtailing the frame . I made a ton of stuff for it like the seat, taillight, motor mounts, rear section, sissy and a bunch of other stuff. Oh yeah I powder coated almost anything that is black, except for the frame (thanks geekdublD)

My buddy markee from http://www.kilbydeuce.com/ made my handy bars (the tall ones)and flat bottom friscoed my tank. He also moved the fuel inlet, outlet and installed his external fuel gauge kit. geekdublD (his handle on 33) put the rad ass paint on the tank. Lace and scales!

This bike is pretty quick and a whole lot of fun. I rode this lil bastard to the smokeout solo mission style!

I did think about it when I was making the bike. I decided against it cause I like the open space there.

I picked up an 82 Suzuki GS 450 for $200 and I can't wait to chop it. It's my first bike! Anyway, you mentioned you hardtailed the frame and I was wondering what you did to do it. Most of the bobbers I've seen are hardtailed with metal rods where the shocks used to be, but yours looks like a weld on and it looks great. Can you give me some advice and direction?

its pretty much a weld on tail section that i made myself. I used d.o.m. tubing. cut off the whole rear of the frame and the two side backbone rails under the tank and replaced it with a single backbone( like an xs ). it was a lot of work but it looks right now. dont forget to slug the tubing. dont just butt weld two pieces of tubing. it wont hold. i want to see what youve done to yours so far. u made a thread for it yet?

I haven't done anything to it so far. We have to get it running first! As soon as we get going on the chop, I'll create a thread for it. Thanks for the advice and encouragement!

Twenty five hundred..... I know, I know but I'm proud of it.

Hey man, I think it is pretty rad and not a bad deal for a kick ass little chop that is turn key. If I had 2500 to toss around and time for a 10 hour road trip, I would snag it.

I might try and talk you down a little bit.........just because.

Did you use the the stock top tree clamp? Looking to swap the stock one out without having to swap out the entire triple tree/ forks. Wanted to use risers and drag bars but the stock bar mount doesn't really allow for that

The whole front end is stock. Just trimmed some tabs and powder coat.

What did you re-jet the carbs to? I had to reject mine and haven't quite found that sweet spot yet.
