Hey everyone, my names Charles and I live in North Las Vegas. Been here about a year and a half from eastern NC. Due to a streak of bad luck since I got here, this has been my only transportation for the past 7-8 months. Good thing it doesnt rain much here but when it does I pay for that bobbed rear fender and no front fender. Anyway, heres a couple of pics. First bike build btw so dont expect much.

Looks killer! 1000% better than stock, good job. Mine is my first "build" as well, but it tends to feel more like I'm ripping it apart than bulding anything, hahahahaha

do u have any closer pics of how that sporty tank is mounted. i'm having a bit of trouble with mine. especially in the back. i've already relocated the petcock to the side.

thanx xharleyx .

As far as tank mounting, I dont have a picture but can easily describe how its done on mine. The front I just lucked out and had holes in the neck gusset that were pretty much where I wanted them so I just put some grommets in the tank mounting holes and ran a bolt thru with a nut. It holds the tunnel of the tank off the backbone about 1/4 inch. On the back I cut off the original mounting tabs that were there and shaped a piece of flat stock to the backbone. Then I welded that piece to the tank and fitted a grommet into a single hole facing straight down. Then just tapped a hole into the backbone and ran a bolt into it. Also, used a bit of threadlock on them. Not sure if the rubber grommets are ever needed but I figured it couldnt hurt anything. Hope that helps but if not feel free to ask and Ill try to get you a pic if needed.

If your tank is like mine, should be a thicker piece of steel under that back side anyway, just weld the new piece onto that from under the tank. Then no one will see the weld and you wont have to worry much about burning a hole in the thinner walls of the tank.

hey great bike man, i have a 81 650e that i messed with a little but the big bulky stock tank needs to go, do the coils fit up under the sporty tank you have on yours?

I'd like to see a better picture of what you did with the rear. Suspension stock, front looks lower?
