Hey guys and gals,

Took me a while, but I finally registered here. It was my first bike, since then I've started on a few more. Looking forward to some good information being passed along here. Currently working on a Rebel 250 for the wife (slightly hot-rodded) and a single downtube swingarm XS650 for a friend...

Gday Hugh,

mate I've read your whole build on Pirate4x4, I dig your bike and the work you put into it for your project! One of the best XS build threads I've seen, top work. Looking forward to your other works!

yeh my next bike will be 0' stretch as well, too many dudes are running 4-5 inches and I reckon it's too much. Even my 3 inches is longer than I'd prefer but the convenience of a TC hardtail was too much to pass up!

I can build a hardtail for you guys at any stretch and drop you want, if interested, send me a message.

I first saw your bike on the 4x4 forum mentioned earlier, super stylish build. Digging all the machined stock components. A buddy of mine is helping me build a complete hardtail frame for my '78, and the rear stretch is a major factor in porportioning the thing, you did a great job on this bike.

Man I wish you jumped on here a couple weeks ago I would have had you do my hardtail. Diggin the bars on your bike also might try to do something similar on mine.

haha, i hear ya man. Don't copy me too blatantly!! :) Lots of my close "bike" friends hated my bars, told me they would never work, etc... Lots of hate in my local community over my bike... If I had to do them again, I'd add a gusset or two, just for extra safety measure.

Dude am I mistaken or is this the bike that was rephased? Cause if so, you are the fucking man! I loved watching that video of you starting it up, shit sounded MEAN. Wish I had the technical prowess to build something so nice, with such attention to detail. I salute you!

Yeah, I don't ever do stock engines. Re-Phased to 277 Degrees... Ported and Polished Head, Dual Ignition, Bored out to 707CC's, Overdrive 5th gear, modified oiling, 11:1 compression, Kick-Only, and Flatslide Lectron carbs...

Not yet, Im taking a class to learn G Code, and 3D CNC Machining. I'll probably machine a mold, then cast them in various resins to see how they hold out. Or i could just cast Aluminum ones, but I dig the clear....

G-Code, damn man I hated that shit. It's easy but my stupid lecturers were making us write that shit by hand. Seriously man, nobody hand programs CNC any more, it's called a postprocessor!

Baby steps man! We do the G-Code first, then another type of code, then to a postprocessor. Basically he wants us to be able to understand all the code language.

yeh I know, but still, hand writing it.... I did 3 so called "Advanced" cad/cam subjects when I did my degree and the shit should have been called "how to spell CAD" it was that stupid.

But hell I didn't need to do much study...
