Nice! Let me guess, the front brake calipers are frozen and carbs need cleaning?

01-08-2010, 1:16 AM
nope! both brakes are actually amazingly in great shape! she rides around pretty decently but its getting a good carb cleaning and a few other things done for good measures.....still has the original tool kit and both side covers even!

got it for a grand even, spent all day today working on it, finally had a day off work. there was a bunchhhh of crap in the fuel system, replaced the lines, cleaned the petcock, cleaned both of the bowls realll good and it runs like a champ more or less. i need new gaskets for the bowls because the previous owner rigged up some homemade stuff that isnt sealing right...im gonna keep it all stock except for new exhaust because that stock set up is holding it back wayy too much...she ran good though! im hyped.

I almost had a red '72 like that for $500 a few years back - same sort of deal - bone stock in great shape. I even test rode it, but once I pulled out my checkbook the guy got cold feet. Said he wanted to think about it for a few days. So I swing by a week later to see what he decided and he told me that he said he wanted to keep it, seeing as how gas prices were high and all. Living in a small town, I happen to see the same bike at a gas station about a month later, so I wait outside to see if I can convince him to sell it. Turns out, he did sell it to someone else about 3 weeks later for the same price. Didn't even have the courtesy of calling me to see if I still wanted it. Oh well, thats life I suppose.

Awesome little bikes!! Good score.

Here's mine that I picked up this past year...

It's a 1972 CL350 Scrambler. The only difference between the CB & the CL are the high pipes. She's my dirt bike and she's staying that way.

You don't even want to know much I paid for mine!!

that was my first bike. man it sounded like an angry hoard of killer bees when I rode it. I put a sporty tank and some mini apes and just knew I was cool. ran with a bunch on the interstate one day and damn near cooked it. they are great for around town. If you nee any parts I have a few. later turtle
