Well I finally rode the old girl. I was amazed the old girl handles great and fucking honks. Dads got an ultra classic and I left him sucking fumes and pluggin his ears. Few little issues but nothing to bad. My gas cap vent doesnt seem to be working right and sucks the carb dry. then I cracked the cap and pourd gas all over 3 hour old pain and fucked it all up. Have to get a new rattle bomb tomorrow. I have a couple questions for you guys. It runs sweet when you are on it but loads up pretty bad. I have one plug chocolate and the other black so I think I have a bad plug. They are the original champions gonna get some ngks tomorrow. I have a dual lead coil so i know that is good. But I think i might have some carb issues as well kinda idles irratic. What jets are you guys running with straight headers and pod filters kinda want to get a baseline to start with. I have set the points but not the timing gonna do that tomorrow. I am running a sparks battery delete and seems to be fine. No turn signals or other bull shit and I can keep the light on at an idle. Just gotta get her dialed in. But very happy with it. The leaf spring rear dont ride to bad. Thanks guys for all your help I know I am newer to the site and have asked alot of questions but I couldnt have done it without you guys.

the bike is cool.
but, two set of points and one dual lead coil is a not the best ignition set up, it has to do with point dwell and coil saturation time. depending on carb mixture it can run ok at some RPMs and will miss at other RPMs.
then add this to changing voltage from a no battery electrical system and that changes things some too.
You might find it will run much better if you put a Pazon ignition in there.

awesome machine. I'm loving that rear leaf spring, I assume you built it, any info or build photos of it?

I have to agree with Torch, the ignition does more than just start the bike. Ditch those points and get a (Pazon) Electronic Ignition. And maybe a Boyer Light Delay, Do NOT get confused and buy a Boyer Electronic Ignition! These Digital Electronic Ignitions feature Idle stabilization, and a full range of advance/retard. The Boyer light delay will allow you to wire it up so you don't have to have an on/off switch for the headlamp/ tailamp. You start the bike, the lights come on automatically, how pimp is that? You should be able to swap out the points for an EI in about 2-3 hours and for a reasonable price (I'm going to guess under $300)

Yup I did build it. In my 8x8 shed lol. The good thing about having such a small work shop when you get pissed and throw shit it doesnt go far. I will try to post some more of the build pictures here quick. I started in on march 21 of this year and rode it for the first time yesterday. Thanks torch I will be ordering one this week.

Ditched the dual output coil for the stockers. Runs great. Gotta order a pazon hopefully this week. Thanks fellas once again.
