Went snowboarding for the first time this season last week. Only went up to North Carolina, so it was nothing compared to what you assholes get out there on the west coast. I dont have any pics because I was too busy slipping on ice.
But who else is out there hitting it up, post those pics!

Man that blows! Your bike got stolen?

I used to live in Aspen. Taught myself how to snowboard. Grew up in FLA skateboarding and surfing so it really wasn't a far stretch. I live in Michigan now and there is such a disappointing comparison I barely want to go anymore. Michigan sucks.....for everything actually.

there is such a huge scene here in mn, but i got out of it when i moved to breck and never got back in it when i moved back. the progression here has blown my mind, some of the stuff ive seen happening around here is just insane.

ive only ridden once this year and it kills me to not have 40+ days on my pass already, but hopefully in the next few years ill be able to be a broke, damn near homeless, but happy sob living in the mountains again

Man, I wish I lived near a mountain, even a mediocre one. I really could use the exercise that comes with all that fun. Sucks getting old...................

When I lived in Aspen I was able to board 80+ days in a winter season. Back then (1993) the all moutain pass was $880 when purchased through my then employer (Ritz-Carlton). I can only imagine what the all mountain pass costs now. You almost have to go out everyday just to make it worth the money!

I miss the old days of living with 4 other ski/snowboard instructers in a huge empy space above a old storefront, sking/snowboarding every weekend and partying all week. Those were good days for Minnesota skiing. Its amazin how far boarding and freestyle in general has advanced in minnesota the last few years. The hills out here are doing the best they can with the limited elevation we got, and the door is starting to close on the old fashioned ski snob days, with there being a lot more variety on the hills.

grew up boarding mammoth and all the other shitty so cal mts, been to whistler and switzerland too, super fucking rad. last year i surfed and went boarding all in one day. then i sold all my shit, bought a nice wetsuit and just surfed through winter. snowboarding is fun and all but its so damn expensive. 5 bucks for a redbull n shit, you gotta take a personal loan out for a cheeseburger in mammoth....takes up all my hooker n blow money.

Jashole, Sorry to hear about your bike man. Nothing more beat than coming home happy and seeing that. Hope it comes home safe.

I haven't been out yet this year. Missed out on the whole season last year as the wife gave me the guilt trip as she was pregnant with our son and couldn't ride. I am looking for some peeps to ride with as my old school crew are a bunch of lame ass boozers anymore. Nothing wrong with the liquid fun but if you can't get up to ride then it's a problem.

So if anyone from NJ, PA, Upstate NY wants to hit the hill, shoot me a line. I'm no shredderific youngin' but I'll try to keep up. I can go most days without too much issue so mid week empty lift days would be killer.

Looks nice.

Blizzard has been going on 2 days here now. its -17*C right now, and last night I shoveled just shy of 3 feet of snow out of my driveway to be able to drive today. With snow drifts & another 1.5 feet overnight, just spent an hour clearing the driveway again. Intense, but... no mountains.

East coast riding sucks. But makes you kind of good due to being used to Ice. Used to ride all the time. However a few trips to Denver made spoiled me so much that I didn't even want to ride locally anymore. Everything was big, perfect, endless. The snow just was so grippy. Parks kept up.

However my last trip to Breckinridge I ended up breaking a binding on my first run, ripped the threaded bolts right out of my lib tech.

We just came from Vegas and lets
Just say I didn't do so well. A new board wasn't happening. Ended up borrowing a friends board. But I was going from a 162 to a 148, with some weird ass rocker technology. I was a mess. With vitamin d or some shit.

I was told I had altitude sickness and to chill. I ended up just record shopping in Denver my last three days.

Last season I bought new boots, bindings, and a used deck and went a total of 10 days or so between my folk's place in Denver and the local mtns here in SoCal...

Sometime over the summer I was moving some shit around and I found that my board is peeling apart from the middle.. 10" of the top fiberglass just peeled off from the base from edge to edge. I think I hit something on my last trip out, cracked my base, and the stress of the bend in the board peeled it apart...

Doesn't really matter why tho, all I know is that we've had awesome powder days and I cant afford to drop money on a new deck this year. Looks like I wont board a single day out here. :banghead:
