My boy is going to be 16 late next year so we've been looking at project vehicles for a while now. He wanted to be able to fit BMX bikes in something as well as four friends. Then there's the whole Z-bed idea... Anyway. BF Josh helped me go pick this unit up yesterday. Sweet lil' 70 Econoline, panel on one side, glass on the other. Slow as shit but the speedo says you are doing 90 when you are doing 60 so the kid won't be getting any speeding tickets. Made the trip 50 miles back home without a hiccup. We'll see, the plans are pretty simple, some wheels (anyone got a stock 14"? we're missing one on the other side, or some cragars or slotted mags) and home made interior and dial in some mechanical bits.

Not a truck but still cool as fuck. She just turned 52,000 miles last week. I'm wanting to put some 14" Cragar SS' on there in the spring. That or some wires, I haven't decided.

When this bitch isn't running I use Daves truck, although I don't have a pic of it, hahahaha

HAHAHA I went to see if I had a pic of it but all the ones I have only show the bed of it doing what a shop truck should be doing..............hauling more motorized vehicles to the shop.

so we have to stuff the bugrat with parts, and regularly do. Anything too awkward or real heavy gets the truck or someone carries it for me. She only gets out if it rains, or to ship UPS/USPS, but it is drier than the bike...glad we can ride pretty much year round though cause I couldn't squeeze into her day in day out...

I had one of these dirty old turds in the mid 90s! I must say it was one of my I wish I never sold it trucks. I bought it at a auction for 350.00 and it ran like a champ. It had 2 flat tires so I felt it was abit of a risk because they didnt let you start or drive the car before bidding.
My favorite part of the ride was the 12" sub sitting on the middle of the cab and the fact you could pull tree stumps all day long with the beast. Did I mention the metal body was 1/2" thick!

The only time my bike is ever in the back of a truck is when its broke, from being ridden.....if you gotta tow it, do it in style. After snapping my belt on two different occasions I decided I'd either have to start riding more like a pansy, or research a stronger belt......some of these new belts are damn near indestructible.

wow, lots of Dodges here. This is my '58 Dodge Town Panel. Had it for about 5 years or so, but just got it back on the road again, it's bagged with a 305 V8, 10 bolt rear and 700r4 tranny. gets 20 miles to the gallon and scoots around town pretty good. I can still fit a bike in the back even with the frame notch and bags....I also have an '04 GMC for towing and stuff....but who wants to see that?

maybe for a driving project but I've never been a fan of the unfinished look. Plus too many people were calling it a rat rod which made me very punchy

Makes you a Tard for getting "punchy" when someone calls it a rat rod. A) They don't know any better, so try growing up and explaining it to them if the term annoys you. B) The term is only a bad thing among the purist traditional hot rod nazis anyways. I embrace it. I've built cars that have won best of show, magazine features, etc and when a kid said he liked my rat rod. Guess what, I took it as a compliment, because that's what it was. Rust is not a crime. Ignorance can be corrected. Assholes are forever.

get off my balls and quit over analyzing shit, punchy was a figure of speech. it bothers me but not to the point where I want to actually punch someone. And with the term rat rod, I'm done explaining why my cars aren't that. I'm done being a broken record and the teacher of why I hate the term. I say let the ignorant be ignorant. I just give them a fake smile and a thumbs up.

we all share different tastes and if you like rusted pieces of shit, good for you. if your aim for a build is to take a perfectly good project and make it a POS rotted out car, so be it. I like to stop and prevent rust whenever possible. I like shiny paint, pearls, candy, flakes, etc. but I am also a fan of suede too. I also can appreciate natural patina but if any of my cars have it, sometime down the road it'll be addressed. To me, (and 99.99% of car builders), rust is cancer NOT A CRIME OR LOOK.

but that's just my personal 0.02. Like I said, different strokes for different folks. You appreciate Rust and call a half completed car "finished." While I would call it a driving project.

I'm not a purist or a nazi. I just praise history & tradition just as well as originality and anything modern. But the ONE thing I praise the most is AESTHETICS and LOOKS. And to me, rat rods with spider webs, brass knuckle shifters, skulls or anything that looks like a Hot Topics store puked out is UGLY. But again, that's just my personal 0.02. And you or nobody else can change that.

This our 90 Chevy full size shop truck, well past 200,000 miles, daily driven, stock floor body drop, other than the suspension, body drop and paint, this thing is bone stock. Turns heads and draws attention to the shop tho.

I would rather drive a honda than a Ford with a Chevy powerplant. I HATE seeing that shit!

My ongoing project shop truck. Not pretty, but it is easy to get bikes in and out of. Nice, fresh, stout motor too.

That's good to hear. I'd rather get butt fucked by the cast of Twilight than put a Chevy engine in a ford. There's just no need for that.

get on my balls and bend over while i eat shit, punchy was a figure of speech. it bothers me but not to the point where I want to actually punch someone.

Aren't you the boner that started that ridiculous post making fun of little people? Wow dude, talk about an epic fail on that one! Seriously though man, how stupid do you feel after that situation?

If you don't like the post about shop trucks, which is in the FOUR WHEELS section, then don't read it. Take your sweet arm tattoo and super hip goatee and read another post. You don't seem terribly smart anyway so I'm sure it took you quite a while to get through all of those pages of big words.

Now I'm sure you're going to post some really awesome response here but I'll save you the hours of researching words in the dictionary and trying to remember which form of "their, there, they're" fits your comment best. Your opinion means whale shit to me. PLEASE go away

i know i had a '77 ford highboy with 38's and a 450 horse 454, cheap horse power thats why. old hot rodders did it that way because it was easier and cheaper to get performance, now it's just as cheap to build a ford( except f,e engines).
