Ok finally making progress on my 66 Triumph build, elelectically a pretty minimalist bike, just headlight and tail light. New Harley style dual coils, plan on a buying Pazon ignition. The jury is still out if I'm going to run a battery or not. Can't afford a mag, so what are my choices, how well do the battery elimators work ? What are the best ones ? Would you run a battery, if so why ? What's the smallest most compact battery I can hide inconspicuously ? Thanks in advance for the input !

im running the pazon/sparks eliminator combo and everything seems good. all i have is headlight, led tail and some plate lights. just wire it where you can start it first then turn on lights.

we do no battery bikes with electronic ignitions without any issues and we sell a complete "No Battery kit" just for this.
When they are done like this nothing is visible......<a href="http://s457.photobucket.com/albums/qq294/A1dunn/?action=view&amp;current=oiltank013.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i457.photobucket.com/albums/qq294/A1dunn/oiltank013.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

yes, a capacitor is just a simple little battery

Is there a wiring diagram for one or a certain way to wire it? Where do most people mount it? Does it replace my zener and everything?

no, a capacitor only replaces a battery, you still need all the other stuff.
a battery eliminator charge box will replace all that other stuff.

the only thing under the tank is the dual lead coil, all the other stuff is on the "No Battery" tray under the engine like this one.http://i457.photobucket.com/albums/qq294/A1dunn/nobatterytray2.jpg

The charge from your stator makes it work, it stores enough charge to spark your coils when you kick. I just started wiring one, with the pazon and emgo dual coil, all that plus a horn under my tank. Sweet.

Sparx makes two different charge units, one is just a normal charge box like the Tympainum and Podtronics and Sparx also makes a "battery eliminator" charge box.
All "battery eliminators" have a built in capacitor that makes the bike able to work without a battery.

My favorite battery eliminator is the "Boyer Light-Delay" charge unit, it has an automatic switching circuit that turns the lights on after the engine is running and making more power that the ignition needs to stay running, this means you don't need any light switches on the bike, you just kick it and as soon as it is running the lights come on, you don't even need an ignition switch just a kill button,
This is the charge unit we use in the "No Battery Kit" we sell.

no link to the kit, we are slammed with work and we're lagging on doing any updates to our web site, every picture on there is from our old shop.
if you want a kit just call the shop and place an order for one.
