So finally got to use my GoPro on my bike, only place I've mounted it so far is to the side of the tank, but here is my first video, nothing special just raw with no editing. Hopefully soon ill get a good video with some more bikes, these cameras are fun to mess with.

If you got some GoPro videos post em, or if you have some tips!

A little advice is to make sure you have a leash or tether on it. I've had a bracket fail and it was right after I got it. Lost my camera. But the company was cool enough to work things out with me. Great customer service.

How's the bracket for it? Is it a suction thing or what?

Also a bit curious about vibrations. Is there some kind of anti vibration mount that would prevent the waves or what you'd call it in the video?

Newberry

I've just used the suction cup mount. I mean it does vibrate, but you can take it out when you didn't the video which I didn't do in my video. I have a few mounts so you can pretty much put the camera anywhere

i used the handlebar mount on my highway peg on this one. my buddy in front of me made some kind of wristband mount and was just pointing it at me and everything else like he was megaman.

hey guys, i love my gopro. i'm pretty tempted to upgrade to the newer version, but haven't been able to convince myself yet..

here's a few videos i've done:

oh ya, i used the roll bar mount. it's thicker than the handlebar mount and can actually fit around my bars / frame much better. might want to give that a try if you're looking to pick up accessories

i also bought the LCD screen for the back and never use it...so if any of you are considering buying it...don't! it sucks up battery and the wide angle really picks up everything you point it at anyway. no real need for a viewfinder.

my main complaint is i wish it had better audio recording.. i'm gonna try making something to deflect wind noise and stuff

I actually like using my LCD so I can see what I'm shooting, then turn it off.

Went on a 170 mile trip this past weekend. So here is my second video.

Enjoy!

Dont waste your time with the handlebar mount. I ran it twice and it broke. Helmet mount seems to work best. The suction cup is pretty good also. but the helmet turns out the best quality shot.

Make the boom telescopic and quickly detachable that way you can vary the POV. Bonus if you can set the boom up to swivel out to either side.

I want one pretty bad but can't justify the cost yet, maybe when the kid starts becoming mobile I can sell the idea to the wife.

I got one last summer but just got the chop running so I've just started messing with it. Lots of fun. I've got two mounts on mine. I haven't even begun to use it to its capabilities and still have no idea how to dub music over it (would love to learn how to do that!). I got mine mounted on my electric box and oil cooler...both give good views of the road and the chop. I need to learn how to flip video also.

one thing I've found on mine is that where it is mounted it pics up on engine noise even louder than my exahust when I don't have the throttle on and it makes it sound like my motor is gonna self distruct haha this is why I want to learn to dub music over it

GoPro's are awesome.

There is nothing wrong with the handlebar mount so long as you use it sensibly and don't tighten the shizz out of it, a piece of inner tube in between the clamp and bar helps a lot. The helmet mount is the most interesting thing to use though, i've done some really fun stuff with em.

This video of a 45" flathead was the first time I used my GoPro, and my first real shot at editing shit together. You can look through my other vids to see more gopro stuff on bikes.
https://vimeo.com/31066306

I'd like to rig up an external or standalone microphone to be used with the gopro, these cameras are incredible at shooting video but their sound is awful.

Here's my vid:

used the handlebar mount to attach to a 3 1/2 foot stick - lanyard on other end
i would lay the stick across my right arm, with the lanyard around my left wrist, then ride along side my bro and when ready, would grab the stick and hold it near his bike, tires, etc - after editing it works pretty well to get some real dynamic shots.

man, i got a gopro as a gift like 2 years ago, took it out and it doesnt work, wont turn on, nothing. I went back and forth with the warranty people at gopro for months, and they will not help me out at all, because i dont have a recipt. I want to know who you dealt with.

I didn't get a name or I'd pass it on to you. I think what saved me is that I ordered it directly from them and only had it for a few days before I had to call them.

The time elapse photo mode is super sick on the hero2, it takes amazing pics (during the day). You can set it totaled a pic anywhere from every .5 secs to every 5 or 10mins I believe.

HedleyLamarr
09-07-2012, 9:30 AM
my girlfriend bought the Hero and we used it a bit on a recent trip...my helmet and her headlight (shitty vibration on that one) but she then took it back when I told her about the Hero 2

I know the difference in megapixels is vast, but is there that much difference between the two past that? I've seen some slight differences in some comparison videos online, but nothing to get wood over

cuz I saw the other day that Best Buy has lowered the original one to $129 so I'm finding it a little harder to justify the 2

I shot and edited a video yesterday. I fucked around and added a song in the background, uploaded it to YouTube and apparently there is a copyright on the song that I added so it will not let anybody see it. I am wondering if there is any way around that?!?
