View Full Version : What should I do with this?

A friend of mine was recently in a low speed head on with his KTM 950. He though everything was alright (at least on street) and continued to ride until he got back in the dirt and was bucked off at about 45, after that he looked over the frame and found the neck was tweaked. KTM would not sell him a new frame with the original VIN until he cut the head off and shipped it to them. I hear the word free and motorcycle and answer is always going to be yes, he was going to scrap it anyway. Now I have this frame, I figured at the least it's metal to use for other things. At first I was thinking on it's side it would make a rad frame for a side car, but??? I'll hang onto it and wait for something. Have any of you had something similar? What did you do with it? 5hp Briggs and Stratton?HAHAA

I'm thinking 'furniture'... like it could be a very nice bar-stool type thing if you found or made some kind of seat part to attach to where the steering head used to be. Most bars and restaurants have broken or ripped stools in a store-room somewhere that you should be able to beg/borrow/steal.
You'd need to chop off some parts at the base to make it level or even weld on other scrap parts like con-rods, bent handlebars etc.
I'd remove the paint and leave it bare metal; very industrial - brutal.
