Hi!

Built a custom tank to my bike a couple of years ago and mount a weld in pop up gas cap.
The damned thing has leaked ever since and ruined 2 paint jobs. I've now decided to fix it once and for all.

The gas cap is an OEM from E-bay (se pic). I've found a gas tank adaptor at Westbury parts but have no idea if it will fit. The problem with the cap is that the gas escapes from the air inlet holes (vents) and spills all over the tank. The cap needs to be vented so i can't plug the holes.

The size of the cap is much smaller than HD original so can't fit an original one.
Any hints and tips?

No worries.
No I can only fill half the tank when it starts to leak all over.
This is a common problem with these crap pop up caps. I've read a lot of threads on other forums with guys having the exact same problem, but no one has come up with a solution.

I'm thinking of having a mecanical shop fab me a custom cap with the same threads (not a pop up) that has an internal tube that ends up over the top of the cap.
