I just watched this and it looks pretty amazing but no info on what types of steel could be bent...

such a modern machine that obviously took lots of coin to build and they film the video to look like it is 40 years old. reminded me of safety videos at work. thats going to take alot of soul out of handlebars.

Looks like my kid's PlayDoh Fun Factory on steroids.

Wish I'd thought of it though, cause somebody's gonna get rich on it.

I hope Orange County Choppers doesn't see this machine, Only God knows what
Horrible Creations They would produce if they got their dumbass hands on one of these machines.

they can make krome dildos for hog members..

You could build some really nice frame sections with zero error. +1 on the OCC obtaining the machine. They need to go ahead and water jet cut an entire bike, but worry the entire time that if it breaks that SR is gonna have their ass.

this is the reason why none of the new generation can fabricate anything! they get machines to do everything... What ever happen to bending 19 tubes just to get one right?

Nothing like CNC for taking the fab skill out of bike building.

I can see it now.......Biltwell Handle bar "Vending Machine" just insert your atm card hit the button with the picture of the bars you want and 15 sec later your bars poop out the slot.

to me it realy seems kinda useless unless your mass producing shit...... even for a someone that makes handle bars.....they usualy arennt that loopy and intriquet.....

i wonder if you could make a set of brromstick bars with it?

Now that is fuckin cool. I dont even wanna try and contemplate the cost for one of those bastards though.

Yeah, it's cool - I agree, but Ron Finch has been doing crazy wacked out bends for decades without a fancy cnc machine.

It may take some of the skill out of fabrication but I wish I could get my hands on one, imagine what you could do with that and how easy!

No sir, I don't like it.

they can make krome dildos for hog members..

Hahaha, I thought that was all they make now!

Wonder if you could make a frame where there is only a couple tube welds with one of those.

Looks like it's time for some new tech!! Who's gonna show us how to bend pipe/tube the old fashioned way? Is there really anyway to do it without a hydraulic or mechanical bender?

Looks like it's shitting out steel tubing, hahahahaha.

There's a guy here in Milwaukee with one of those. For such an expensive machine, there are a lot of limitations. For what you gain in being able to put different radius bends on top of one another you lose in that you can't bend thin wall tubing and the smallest bend radius is I think around 2D-2.5D. That machine is designed for mass producing parts with multiple radii, thick wall, and not very tight bend radii. Cool concept though.

I saw a bender like this back in 94 a guy was making exhaust with it ...he also was in the business of making fiberglass panles for old hot rod body types ...idea has been around for quite sometime ...Different sizes can do different things like his did thin wall exhaust for instance ...

I would worry more about the skills that are going to china than some machine no one in the motorcycle "custom"/"backyard"/"industry" will ever be able to afford.

All hail to bamboo jigs.

It is a cool piece of equipment, it has limitations as Dan mentions. It is a typical piece of equipment that gets purchased because it is cool and then sits making samples. I know the guy in town who owns one and it makes niche parts that others cant make no volume sits idle most of the time. Customers don’t care what you produce parts on what’s your price, quality and delivery. This eventually becomes a cool piece of half priced used equipment.

I don't the skill is going to fade away, the thing is probley 100010101010 dollars and needs computer machine to operate it. Most of us will never see one in real life. Its neat but what ever. CNC milling and lathes aren't in everybody's shops.
