We recently started a Triumph build for a customer, So we decided to post some in progress pics.
We're going to try to keep updating these as we go, until the bike is done.

The bike started as a '68 T120R. The motor was pulled and completely pulled apart, and blasted to start fresh. The frame was also stripped and everything we didn't want or need was cut off. We also got started on our loop tail hardtail.
<a href="http://s614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/?action=view&amp;current=_MG_7495-Copy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/_MG_7495-Copy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

We added a Timken bearing conversion kit with our own internal forkstop.
<a href="http://s614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/?action=view&amp;current=_MG_7498-Copy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/_MG_7498-Copy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The idea was to run a Sporty front end on the bike and Jay also wanted to run a Triumph front drum, which he felt was a much better looking wheel. That way you can run the drum brake and still have the newer suspension.
<a href="http://s614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/?action=view&amp;current=_MG_7501-Copy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/_MG_7501-Copy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/?action=view&amp;current=_MG_7500-Copy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/_MG_7500-Copy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

If you are interested in running the Triumph wheel on your Sportster front end, give the shop a call or email us.

The Sportster Trees had to be modified to use the internal stop, as well as fit right on the Triumph frame.
The old fork stops had to come off and the suface smoothed, drilled and tapped to fit the rest of the stop.
<a href="http://s614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/?action=view&amp;current=_MG_7515-Copy.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/_MG_7515-Copy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/?action=view&amp;current=_MG_7516.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt230/Acme-Choppers/_MG_7516.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The top tree gets cleaned up by removing all the unnecessary stuff.

The donor bike for this project came from a lot we purchased from a guy in Louisiana, casualties of hurricane Katrina, So you can bet things started off with no where to go but up.

But these proved to be a minor inconvenience in Robert's capable hands.

In reality, He wanted me to point out that the cylinder was unusable, hopelessly seized. The cylinder had to be unbolted and separated from the cases as far as the rods would allow. The cases were then split and the cylinder, rods and crank assembly removed altogether.
He was able to get everything apart to salvage the crank and rods, but the water damage to the rods may be too severe for them to be usable.
Everything was cleaned and blasted and the reassembly is underway.

Those cases look great, what are you using to blast them with? Did you mask off the cam bushings or press those in after?

We use plugs to protect the bearings when media blasting, and after that they get cleaned over and over again with super hot water .Sometimes they get a few tripes through the dishwasher too !

Wish my old lady would let me use the dishwasher to clean cases.

Thank you for documenting this build.
I love the look of the Loop Tail/Axle Plate.

I'm curious about the internal fork stop, my apologies in advance if I sound completely dumb, but I have two questions about their installation:

How do you manage to have the bearing cup perfectly in line?
<a href="http://s75.photobucket.com/albums/i297/elekvins/?action=view&amp;current=_MG_7498-Copycopie.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i297/elekvins/_MG_7498-Copycopie.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

How do you drill the holes to hold the other part?
<a href="http://s75.photobucket.com/albums/i297/elekvins/?action=view&amp;current=DSC_0096copie.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i297/elekvins/DSC_0096copie.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Do you have pictures of these processes? (sometimes due to my english level, I miss some part of explanations, when too many technical words are used)

On a stock configuration, does it give you lenght/hight problem due to the new material being added?

The mount lugs are .750" diameter ,and .250" thick with a turned section .500" in diameter and .125" long. This will pass through the fender and make the mount look like it's only .125" thick on the outside. The mount and threads are actually .250" with 5/16 - 18 threads.

Here is Wayne bending up a pair of fender struts for our Triumph build. He does them together in the vice and levels them for a perfect bend.

Here are some updates:

Using a sander with some 80 grit we finish the struts to perfection.

Here is another update from our Triumph build:

We start with an egg style tank and modify the mounts and filler cap for our project.

Here's a look at our mounts.
