View Full Version : Cut or not?

Hey all

I've got a 61 triumph frame. Its the duel down tube frame. The bike had a long springer front end on it when I bought it. Im converting it into a bobber....

Now my question is this.

The last guy welded on a bar to support the long ass springer front end. Im running a 39mm harley front end . I bought the correct gastank for the model and year . The tank has the structual supports built into it. It was made to act like a crossmember

Anyone familier with this frame type?........Do you think i can cut this bar off to make room for my coil and electronics.

that is an early type T100 frame, in the beginning they had a re-enforced fuel tank that acted as the frame guset, then they switched to a removable strut bar under the tank, either way something has to be there or ithe neck will bend back, that bar is ugly and it would be easy to make a better looking one.

I've got to agree , its going to HAVE to have something there, tho it could likely be done in a more eye appealing manner.
