Hey guys, I met a guy yesterday with this bike for $500 & I'm thinking about picking it up to play around with & maybe commute to work. All I know about the condition is that it runs & is tagged. I have no idea what these things are worth. Is that a good deal or should I offer less? I know it's all relative to the condition, but any help you can offer is appreciated.

Thanks,
Bryan

I forgot to mention, it's a '71. Last year of the twin from what I've read.

i have a twin and a 4. the twins are good little bikes with a cult following.there not speed machines but they will definetly get you to work. $500 seems like a good price for a running legal bike. what are your plans for it?

He is offering it for $500.00? I would say, that is a good deal! He wants it gone, and it seems as if he is not wanting to make a profit, he possibly wants it to go to a good home!

Thanks guys. My plans for the bike would pretty much be just to have fun with it. Of course some minor mods, lighten it up, maybe a cafe seat or something but no major cutting or anything. Small light weight bikes are just so f-ing fun. I've got close to an hour commute to work & it's all windy roads through the hills. I think this bike would be perfect for that, plus my wife can learn to ride with it too.

Wicked bike! Thanks.

thanks dude haha awesome little bikes to mess around with. building a stretched out cb350 bobber right now as well. more of a daily than the chopper since i am keeping the swingarm and suspension and upgrading the front suspension to a newer dirtbike front end with disc brake and a 21" rim haha the possibilities are endless with these bikes :cheersmate:

I'd show up with 400 in big bills and some 5's and a 10 or so. It's winter. Make him deal. And it's a 350, it it were say a 450 it would be better..... but it's not. You'll have to really lighten it up and change the sprocket ratio for it to run at todays speed if you commute on it.
THE MORE YOU PAY! THE MORE IT'S WORTH! :D

That's kinda what I'm thinking. I don't think the guy cares much about the bike. I think he rides a harley bagger or something.

Well, I talked to the guy with the bike again today & he's bringing me some pictures but I'm starting to think that $500 is all it may be worth. He said the rims have a little rust. Who knows what "a little" means? But what's got me worried is he says one of the spark plug holes may be stripped out. I'm still going to investigate further. Those things could really be no big deal.

Offer him 400 and go from there. But offer it in person. He'll move on his price.
