My Grandfather is quite an interesting old man. Grew up traveling the trenches leftover from WWI eating c-rats and blowing fish out of the river with German potato masher grenades they would find in caved in shelves in the bunker walls. During WWII he fled to America with his sister and ended up in Boston, MA. Years later he owned this bike and then his 68' Shovelhead chopper, which he claims was one of the coolest in the South Shore of Mass (pics to come). My question is, what is this bike? I'm not in contact any longer with him and am curious.

Its not the greatest picture, but its all I've got

Its an early thirties Indian scout or a 30.50 with an aftermarket vard hydrolic front end.

Those vard front ends were common to during and right after Ww2. They were a company that made landing gear for planes. Of course Harley stole their shit in '49. Typical dick HD. Move. They stole most of their good ideas ie softtail frames, evo motor, etc etc.
