View Full Version : Winter Projects

11-03-2009, 4:28 AM
Hey everyone, new to the board. But I am currently serving in Iraq, and I'll be home here in a few months just in time for winter. So I figured I would buy a project roller to keep me busy throughout the cold weather, Here is a few pics, as well as of my other bike. Any comments or suggestions?

i hope for you it's not a long winter .. that thing is 90% complete! looks nice

11-03-2009, 4:36 AM
about time u get on here. and my suggestion is hurry up and get back here so we can work on this thing

Yea, I guess the biggest thing is the Primary Drive and the wiring, of course getting an engine mounted, but I'm still iffy on engines. I'm about 99% sure I'm going with an Evo. I'm either going S&S or Revtech. Yea, I know everyone is going to say S&S haha, but I'm kind of trying to do this thing on a budget. But we will see how things go.

looks like a great start man. have you thought about goin with a evo out of sumthin wrecked? may be able to get it a little cheaper if your on a budget.

11-04-2009, 7:35 AM
Yea, that was actually my first thought. But I don't really want to have to put alot of work into something, because you know as well as I do, there is always that chance of buying junk. I figure if I go new, I at least get a warantee with it. But we will see how it goes.

I just put my 100" revtech motor back together after only 4700 miles. Don't waste your money. Buy a factory evo you'll be happy you did. Hell if you want a revtech motor pm me!

im with grynder man, dont waste your hard earned deployment money on a rev tech, youd be better off going with a stock HD evo they are around 2600 crate motor, from the motor company with warranty and no ass pain on the workings of it. you can pump it up later on when its running built and another cold hard winter comes along.just my .02

Well I've had a few change of hearts in the past week or so.
I have decided to go with a Factory Evo.
But I've also been debating on going with a peanut tank and possibly a fresh paint job. Haven't decided on a theme or color scheme yet. I just want to have fun with this one, and make it my own.

Z Bars or Drag?
Give me some feedback!

just make it how u want. doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. if u don't want that tank i'll buy it

yeah get a new paint job that paint looks like cheezy as shit
and the evo engine might add to that
reminds me of the matrix in a bar that smells like axe body spray

either way you'll be haulin ass

i've got drags tilted down just a bit. feels pretty aggressive. but im thinkin of going with some biltwell keystones for just a little bit more rise.
