Heard some chatter about Biltwell coming out with an Evo sporty street tracker seat? Any truth to this? Something narrow perhaps?, nice cup to hold you in place? maybe purple naugahyde with flake piping? whatever.

I believe there was a post on the JJ, a while back, about Biltwell designing a seat with Ballard. Once it's ready they'll let us know.

Last I remember hearing was that they were "testing" it. I can't wait till it's available. I've been needing a cool new seat for quite some time.

i think they need to make one for a BSA :)
that would be something, now wouldn't it.

here is one of the pics posted over on the JJ. I really am looking forward to this seat. I think when I asked Bill at Biltwell about it, possible end of this year start of next if I remember right. Though I think he stated don't hold my breath :D

Man that thing looks awesome. Any idea what the price range is going to be?

Here is what what stated about the seat on the JJ. I would assume it would be reasonably priced since it is coming from Biltwell. And I checked my PM over there and Bill stated it would not be out any earlier than the start of next year (guess I was just hoping sooner with my earlier post).

BANANA SEAT (in development, which means, don't hold yer breath)
We've got a lot of customers with evo sporties for a good reason, they are relatively affordable and fun to modify and ride. Last year Duane Ballard and I built a seat for my Sportster and this is modeled after that design. The trick thing is that there will be a little rubber badge with a hidden slot in it, through which you slide an allen wrench and tighten your seat into the stock threaded insert already in the fender. This way the hardware is all hidden for a sano look. The plastic pan is done and bitchin' so now we are just working on covers, foam and packaging. I'm pretty excited about this seat shape, it follows the frame rails nicely and narrows the look of the bike dramatically. The first batch is going to be for pre-rubber mount evo sporties and then later we'll do a pan that fits the later model bikes.

Yeah, we are getting close. That one was a little too flat. The pan is done, dialing in the foam now. Hidden hardware took some time to research fitment on a bunch of different bikes.

ahh glad to hear comfort is playing a roll, looks mean a lot but comfort is just as important. I have not purchased a seat for my evo sportster, since I know it would be replaced with your fine product once it comes out.

I'll hold off dropping 3 bills on a LePera for now then. My stocker is fine as far as comfort but the lines of it and the tank kind of suck..... holding breath

Well, as all of us late model guys know, there isn't much out there as far as good looking seats. Its either buy a fugly touring seat, or pay a ton of money for something custom.

I myself tried a spring seat, but found out the hard way that they just don't "look right" on a stock sporty frame. This biltwell seat looks like our answer for a (I assume) reasonably priced option that will actually look good.

Let it die. The truth is the seat is close to being done and will be awesome when it is. We'll tell everyone about it once the final product is on order, but until then consider it not available and do not plan your build or reassembly around it. Being safe, I'd say the seat will be available to buy around the holidays this year, but that is not a promise.

Welp, I'm your boy at Biltwell. Sorry about the no reply, we've been moving for the last couple weeks and your e-mail might of got lost in the chaos.

The Banana seat is extremely close and actually In some stage of production at the moment. Unfortunately, that seat is the most complicated item we have made yet and it has kicked our ass getting it to market. We are hoping to have them in May, but no guarantees. You will hear it here, our blog, e-mail blast (if you are signed up for them), and probably in some magazines once we get them.

Thanks for your patience. :killerjob:

the difference for 07-09 and 10-11 is the ecm location was moved, the front mounts are the same on all rubbermounts. i believe. i have asked the same question and they told me a new seat is coming, but im holding out for the biltwell, because their damn good guys

I'm chopping up a mid-90's Sporty along the lines of bratstyle, looks like I'll order the pan and foam model for two reasons, I don't like the Biltwell logo on top of the seat, would have been better sewn to the back edge of the seat and I want red piping and red stitching on the seat, but a good looking seat and a really fucking great price, hope to hear some reviews on the comfort of the seat, as I have zero butt cushion and would want to ride further than just to the local bar.

The foam is stiff, more like a motocross seat, though not that stiff. It's hard to give a good verbal description, firm but compliant would be the best I could say. It's not some super squishy touring seat for sure. If you do the pan/foam combo you could always add a layer of softer stuff on top or in the cover. I know a guy who rode his out to CA from Utah and another who rode the whole EDR on one. They both said it was definitely firm, but not uncomfortable by any means. The shape of a seat has as much to do with the comfort as the foam density, which is why so many people can get away with riding bare seat pans, leather covers with no pads, etc. Anyway, hope that helps.

Another option for newer sporties is the Rough Crafts diamond stitch seat, just got mine, very happy with it.. its low, its hard and its slinky. I too was waiting for a TT&Co seat, this was a good alternative.

Ah, did yours not have the rear fender bracket? I believe that is new to them, he mentioned they used to only attach to the tank mounts (I can't see how that was EVER going to be stable.. I bent the stainless bracket with my hands!)

That sounds good Bill, that is how I would describe my Corbin Gunfighter that I had Christian..XianLeather recover for me, he didn't mess with foam, he just carved me up a bitchin saddle. Well I'm taking my lazy ass time with this build as it will be ground up and it's too fuckin hot here in Texas, so as I work on and get to the point where I need the pan I will order it up from you guys, thanks.
