just curious, i know a lot of people prefer weld on but are there any of you who run bolt on rear ends? pros and cons?

well.....bolt ons are clearly an easier set up. no need to weld. but ask yourself, if you drill a hole that makes it the weakest point. but..y buddy's 650 Bonne is a bolt on and looks solid as a rock.

My bike has a weld on. its solid as a rock.

Just my asshole i mean opinion

not sure which jap bikes have a bolt on... actually, I don't think I've seen a bolt on for Japanese bike. I think most have weld on options.

someone would make a killing if they could start selling bolt on XS650 rears.

I ended up building my own. Not as hard as I thought it'd be, but it would have been super convenient if they made some for DOHC 750 Hondas. The ones I've seen for the XS650's are not bad looking and would have saved me some serious time, and brain cells.

The problem is that you've got nowhere to bolt an XS650 rear. You'd still have to chop and weld to get it on anyway.

I Second the TCBros suggestion. I cannot believe how easily mine went on.
