So this project started like so many, in the adds of craigslist. I call the number and talk to a guy that goes by Stretch and he's got 2 xs650 for cheap so i thought i'd go check them out. After about an hour of driving we find his place which happens to be a graveyard for motorcycles. i went ahead and took both bikes for less than $250, one had been chopped on and was a roller w/ a good engine and nothing more the other was a parts bike that was locked up.

Then I started to chop it up, i ordered the universal hardtail kit from TC Bros so i could get a bit of a drop seat look going. Then started putting it back together

you made that into a good looking bike man. Are you going to paint the tank? i like the raw myself.

I should start by saying that is just the beginning to this build. Although i though it looked good it just wasn't right the tank was too wide and it looked like a lot of other xs i've seen. So i picked up a girder at a swap meet, made some stainless bars, new tank and a fender from Front Street Cycles jockey shift and w. foot clutch

Next was sending it off to paint and when i get them back i should have a running bike. I definitely wanted something unique and i think i found the right guy and i just let him run with it...

got the girder for $125, pretty cheap what sucked was finding the stem bolt and bearings to make it work. As for the foot clutch i modified the tcbros forwards to pull the clutch cable. we will see how safe it turns out...

That's wicked man, my next XS Build will run a girder. nice and low style on stock rake.

Not many people are running girders on them.
