Dad's 'bobber...
Updated 9 year(s) ago
This was my Dad's first bike, a 1948 Indian. He 'bobbed' it after the Korean war. This photo was taken about 1958. He was 16 when he bought this bike and was the only one at Pulaski High School in Milwaukee to ride a motorcycle to school. I believe the school had about 1000 students.
Dad's '73 FX
Updated 9 year(s) ago
I was 4 years old when my father roared down the street and brought this bike home. My life changed that day and it's been a love affair with motorcycles ever since. I remember that moment clearly. Kids of my generation had Evel Knievel as their hero, I had my Dad, my real life hero. At 74 years old, he is still the coolest man I know. He was the true 'Lone Wolf', he rode with and among many different groups over the years, but never cared for titles, status or membership. His health is failing now and I reflect often on all the time we rode and wrenched together where I learned many life lessons under his tutelage. He is a great man and my hero.

Here are a few pics of an interesting scooter made by the factory from 1960-1965. They have 165cc motors with a centrifugal clutch. Top speed is about 65 mph. They made about 7000 total with only 500 made in 1965. The one with a sidecar is a 1965. There were only about 50 sidecars made. The one with the package box is a 1962. This one is now in the collection of a H-D dealership in Texas. There were only about 12 or so package boxes made. This one is now in Harley's Archive Collection at the Museum. Pretty fun little scoots.
