1976 GMC Vandura 4x4 $7500 Richmond, CA
Created: 9 day(s) ago
1976 GMC Vandura 4x4 van, basically the GMC version of a Chevrolet G30 van (although with 4WD!). Short wheel base, 350 ci 5.7 L V8 GM small block, 3-speed Turbo 350 automatic transmission, Pathfinder 4x4 conversion, Warn locking hubs, custom bumpers front and rear, Edelbrock carburetor and Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, California Highway Patrol dashboard light, working searchlight, CD player and radio, working heat and defroster.

Everything works! Starts and runs and drives normally!

Originally a utility van in California, I believe for the Western Electric/Pacific Telephone company. Previous owner was a gem miner and used the van on occasional mining and camping trips. I used the van for dirt biking and camping trips but have since gotten a truck for this purpose. My work on the van was focused on function/making it reliable, next step was body work (there is some minor, non-structural rust - see pictures) and interior. The interior is gutted and ready for your customization! There is a small water leak from the factory metal seam at the upper right windshield corner and the rear window seal (which opened up at the seam) as well as from a hole drilled for a CB antenna near the upper right windshield area. I would recommend sealing these up before building out the interior, but I have not discovered any other leaks. The bottom of the passenger door is also rusted (see pictures) which I treated with Eastwood Rust Inhibitor to slow the spread until proper repair could be done.

Mileage unknown as odometer rolls over at 100,000 miles, but engine rebuilt in 1996 when odometer read 59,391 and it now reads 29,000. I purchased at around 22,000 miles and flushed all fluids and serviced brakes and changed spark plugs at that time.

Additional items since purchase include:
-Flowmaster muffler (2 yrs ago)
-New battery
-New starter motor
-New fuel pump
-New (used OEM) right side exhaust manifold and smog tube
-New MSD distributor
-Rebuilt carburetor
-New lights (headlights, side markers)
-New door seals, windshield seal
-New windshield
-Rebuilt steering column and new steering column floor/firewall sea
The van will be sold with various extra parts (bottle jack, tire iron, belts, thermostat, air cleaners, gaskets, leftover body paint, full carpet-style interior liner etc.) and with the original 4WD gear selector knob, not the skull knob shown.
Don't hesitate to contact me with questions or to come take it for a drive! I have more pictures but couldn't upload them.
Will consider trade for a Harley Davidson shovelhead or panhead or Evo chopper or pre-1975 El Camino.
